G. Spencer Beard, Jr.
Spencer Beard was born in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in 1973, and grew up in North Carolina. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Beard worked for ESPN, Inc. in Bristol, Connecticut, and New York City. After that, while staying in New York, Mr. Beard worked for the Walt Disney Company in their interactive television division, “ABC’s Enhanced TV.”
Mr. Beard met his future wife, Emmie, a native of Jackson, Mississippi, while in New York. They have two sons, and are members of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral in Jackson.
Mr. Beard practices general defense litigation, with an emphasis on catastrophe loss and construction-related matters, as well as premises liability.
Mr. Beard’s experience includes:
- Representing insurer, successfully resolved insurance appraisal and bad faith claim arising out of property damage caused by Hurricane Katrina to 50-building college campus in Mississippi;
- Acting as insurer’s appraiser in insurance appraisal, obtained agreement with Umpire on monetary amount of damage caused by Hurricane Wilma to multiple-building condominium complex in south Florida.
